What is holding the grade back
Your grades
Most things start at S and climb as grades come back. LG 0 is the exception: it is scored on the second‑lowest of the grades you actually have, so its rows start unmarked and stay out of the sum until they are marked.
Import your grades
Drag the button below to your bookmarks bar, then click it while you are on your Canvas grades page or your Gradescope course page. It reads the grade table and sends it here. This tab picks it up within a few seconds.
Run it on both. They cover different ground and Gradescope often marks first, so each import is merged into what you already have rather than replacing it. A real mark is never overwritten by a page that has simply not seen it yet, and anything you set by hand stays put. You can run it on both sites back to back without coming here in between — both scrapes wait for you and arrive together.

What gets sent
- Assignment names, Canvas assignment ids and scores from the page you run it on. Nothing else.
- It never reads your cookies, your login session or any other tab.
- Scrapes wait on the server under a random link only your browser knows, are deleted the moment this tab collects them, and expire fifteen minutes after the last one regardless.
- If your school blocks the upload, the bookmarklet instead opens this page with the data in the URL fragment — which browsers never send to a server. That path is entirely on your machine.
How the grade is worked out
Subgoals take the second-highest grade
Sort the grades and read off the second one down. One bad grade among several does not sink a subgoal.
- One grade → that grade
- Two or more → second-highest
Except LG 0, which takes the second-lowest
All four LG 0 subgoals are read from the other end — the second grade up from the bottom, counting only the ones actually graded. Miss one studio and your Collaboration rating holds; miss two and it moves. Professional skills have to hold up all semester, not just twice.
Two things follow. An LG 0 subgoal starts at P and can only be held or pulled down, never lifted by one more good grade. And a row nobody has marked yet is left unmarked rather than assumed S, because an assumed S here is a real grade dragging the rating down.
Global assessments take the lowest grade
A goal’s global assessments are scored on their weakest result, except that an S is relaxed to a D. A goal with no global assessments counts as P.
A learning goal is only as strong as its weakest part
- Every subgoal and the global at P → the goal is P
- Any S anywhere → the goal is S
- Anything else → the goal is D
What each exam level takes
- B Baseline, 3 points — 80% on the multiple‑choice questions.
- A Application, 4 points — satisfactory work on the free‑response question, roughly an A on it.
- T Attempted, 1 point — a good‑faith effort that does not reach baseline.
Three exams, so 12 of the 30 points are here — more than any single learning goal.
LG 0 gates the A range
28, 29 and 30 points earn A‑, A and A+ only when LG 0 (Professional Skills) is P. Otherwise the grade stops at B+, however many points you have.
Special Topics adds up to 2
A separate opportunity, rated P/D/S and added to your total rather than to any learning goal, so a perfect record comes to 32. Anything at or above 30 is still an A+.
Points become letters
Anything below 20 points is an F. If you are taking the course Pass/No Pass, C‑ (22 points) is the lowest passing grade.
